Come promesso vi presento la mia prima intervista…mi raccomando fatemi sapere cosa ne pensate!!!
Ho conosciuto Cristina quando aveva circa 15/16 anni con una testa piena di dreadlocks…beh il vedere la strada che ha fatto, le scelte di pancia che l’hanno portata dove è ora ed il domandarmi dove arriverà mi fanno pensare che i nostri cassetti segreti vanno aperti che i nostri sogni lasciati liberi e noi liberi di seguirli.

1) perchè la fotografia:
Guardando gli album di famiglia mi sono accorta che da quando avevo più o meno sette anni, in tutte le foto di viaggio, ho legata al polso una macchina fotografica, di quelle piccole compatte. Un giorno ho scoperto che della passione di mio padre per la fotografia potevo farne una professione. Il sogno si è realizzato.
2) "La memoria della Guerra Civile" perché hai privilegiato una memoria così lontana da te a conflitti più recenti come la Bosnia per esempio?
La Spagna è un paese a me caro; un amore spagnolo durato 6 anni ha fatto si che mi appassionassi al paese ed alla sua storia. La spagna è più vicina a noi di quanto pensiamo. Purtroppo la loro dittatura è durata più di 30 anni e a differenza della nostra se ne è parlato molto poco. La memoria è un tema per me magico, qualcosa di passato che in questo caso è stato volutamente dimenticato.
3) Cosa provi quando riguardi i tuoi lavori?
A volte sembrano che manchino di qualcosa come se non fossi riuscita a raggiungere il mio obbiettivo, altre volte mi emozionano come se non l’avessi mai visti prima., quasi come se non l’avessi fatti io.
4) Come capisci che quel reportage o progetto si può chiudere?
La mania di perfezione (evoluzione) fa si che per me un lavoro non finisce mai. Penso che nessuno dei miei racconti sia finito. Con il tempo si cambia sia umanamente che professionalmente; questo fa si che mi riservo sempre l’opportunità di riprendere un lavoro e di affrontarlo con il mio nuovo bagaglio personale.
5) "Luna Park" dove ti ha portata e cosa hai trovato?
Ogni volta che mi trovavo di notte in qualche locale sentivo di annoiarmi, di non sapermi divertire. Un giorno ho deciso di portami la mia amica Canon; Iniziò un viaggio introspettivo, silenzioso se pur a suon di beat. Varie le sensazioni: sentirmi in sintonia e estranea a quel mondo notturno. Occhi critici si alternano all’euforia dell’atmosfera.
Un euforia effimera che alle prime luci dell’alba cessa di esistere.
6) In base a cosa scegli un progetto da seguire?
Istinto, interesse personale per qualcosa che amo o rifiuto nella mia vita. Mi piace andare a fondo nelle cose che mi lasciano un segno in un modo o nell’altro
7) Molti s'improvvisano fotografi in quest'era digitalizzata, cosa e chi fa la differenza?
Con l’era digitale fare fotografie è diventato “troppo” accessibile, un fenomeno che a volte non si riesce neanche più a distinguere da una moda. A parer mio la fotografia va vissuta in profondità; allo stesso tempo intellettualmente andrebbe anche presa meno sul serio. “

1) Why photography?
Going through our family album I realize that since I was 7 I was carrying around a little camera. Then one day I understood that I could make a profession out of what was my father’s passion: photography. The dream has come true.
2) “Exilio de dentro, memories from the Spanish civil war” Why did you pick a memory so far from you in respect to other more recent conflicts such as Bosnia’s civil war?
Spain has been in my heart since I had a “Spanish love” that lasted 6 years. That made me understand the history of the country and the country itself too. Spain is not that far from us. Their tyranny lasted more than 30 years and not many people have talked about it. Memories are a magic theme, even more in this case.
3) What are your feelings about your work?
Sometimes I think I miss something, like I couldn’t reach the point I was meant to. Other times I feel touched by them like I’ve never seen them before…as I have never taken that picture before
4) How do you understand when your job has done?
My “mania” to perfection never allows me to think that that reportage or project is finished. Actually I think that none of my stories are finished yet! As human beings we are always in evolution and that gives us the chance to open again a “file” and add something more on it with a different point of view.
5) “Luna Park” where did it take you? What did you find?
Every time that I was in a nightclub I was bored. I had the impression that I could not enjoy myself. One day I carried my good friend Canon along with me. I started a journey, a silent journey. I had many different feelings I was at the same time in and out of that nightly world. At dawn everything disappears and nothing is left.
6) How do you choose a project?
Instinct, personal interest in something that I love or hate. I like to go deep inside things that are important for me.
7) It’s quite easy to be a photographer in this digital era. What and who makes the difference?
Yes it’s true. Sometimes is even too “available”. I think that you to LIVE photography deep inside of you, you have to FEEL it…but at the same time you can’t be too serious about it.
8) What picture do you have on your bedside table?
